SALES AND MARKETING
Location: San Diego

Job Responsibilities:
The Marketing Operations Assistant will report directly to the Marketing Director and be responsible for supporting a broad range of tasks including: the development of marketing materials, coordinating annual trade shows, and working with outside vendors to support the overall marketing plan objectives.
This position will start as a temporary job that can lead to a full-time position.

• Project management: from initial concept through publication of various sales tools-
   including brochures, spec sheets, web content, newsletters, direct mailers, and electronic media.
• Coordinate activities with outside vendors including printers, designers, distributors, and partners.
• Help develop targeted media lists, editorial calendars and help manage targeted press distributions.
• Occasional event marketing for annual trade shows and targeted events.
• Additional tasks as needed to support the Marketing Director’s initiatives.

Skills and Experience Requirements:
• 3-5 years in marketing or public relations in a technical environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), CRM systems, and Internet research.
• Thorough understanding of different marketing communications vehicles.
• Ability to interface with vendors, product managers, sales directors, distributors, partners and
  internal customers such as human resources.
• Highly organized with the ability multi task and prioritize work schedule to meet project due dates.
• Ability to work autonomously.
• Strong attention to detail.

Education Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, or Communications

Occasional travel required to support trade shows

ENGINEERING AND QUALITY ASSURANCE
Location: San Diego

Job Responsibilities:
• Writing embedded firmware in C.
• Reviewing existing firmware.
• Documenting existing and new product features.
• Devising test strategies for vehicle bus devices.
• Using vehicle bus monitoring and simulation tools to guide development and test firmware releases.
• Developing custom test applications in Visual Basic and/or C/C++.
• Evaluating performance of our product in a variety of vehicles.

Skills and Experience Requirements:
• 5+ years of embedded firmware development experience using C.
• Ability to read hardware schematics and perform basic hardware troubleshooting.
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time to customer sites (within the US) and present a
   positive image of SmartDrive to customers and prospects.
• Experience developing firmware for products that communicate on an automotive
   communications protocol such as CAN, J1850, J1708, and J1939.
• Ability to program using Visual Basic.
• Ability to troubleshoot automotive problems (e.g., backyard mechanic).
• Ability to perform automotive installations of devices like radios and alarms.
• Good interpersonal skills.

Education Requirements:
BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.

Location: San Diego

Job Responsibilities:
As a contributing member of a cross-functional team, perform applied research, design, and development of new products. This position reports to the Director of Firmware Development. Work includes the design and development of complex OBD II interfaces and communication protocols. Develop small footprint, highly reliable OBD and Black Box Data Recorders. Work closely with Customer Support and Deployment teams and visit sites to work on field problems.

Skills and Experience Requirements:
• 5-7 years hands-on engineering experience developing computer products.
• 4+ years experience with firmware design and development.
• Familiarity with simulation tools and project management techniques.
• Strong analytical and problem solving abilities. Good written and verbal communication skills.
• 2+ years hands-on experience with OBD II, J1850, J1979, CAN, and developing products with them.
• Should be comfortable reading hardware schematics.
• Experienced using oscilloscopes and hardware & software simulation tools.
• Proven experience developing automobile quality products.
• Fluent in assembly for ARM and Assembly, C, C++.
• Troubleshooting problems using embedded tools such as debuggers, emulators, JTAG,
   ICE probes, bus analyzer and logic analyzer.
• Excellent multi-tasking abilities.
• Preference for a fast-paced and growth-oriented work environment.
• Micro OS II, ThreadX, Nucleus, VxWorks, pSOS development environments a plus.
• Experience in developing device drivers, communication protocols a plus.

Additional Skills:
Fluency in Mandarin is a plus.

Education Requirements:
BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required (MS preferred).

• 7+ years working in Microsoft-centric environments.
• Experience developing high performance, rich web applications using AJAX.

• 3+ years experience working with relational databases using ADO.NET and nHibernate.
• Experience developing for scalable, load balanced, web server farms.
• Working knowledge of browser technologies, including CSS, JavaScript.
• Experience developing and using web services (SOAP, REST) and XML, XSLT, DOM processing.
• Experience with unit testing, NUnit framework.
• Fundamental knowledge of C++/MFC/Windows development a plus.

Job Responsibilities:
• Direct the daily operations of the accounting department, including invoicing, accounts receivable,
   credit and collection activities, accounts payable, cost accounting, fixed assets, revenue
   recognition, bank accounts, payroll, and compliance and stock administration functions.
• Drive the reporting process, including preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial
   statements, audit schedules, and supporting documentation for reporting to management, Board of
   Directors, and external auditor reviews.
• Lead the development and implementation of policies and procedures that ensure adequacy of
   internal controls and IT systems, safekeeping of assets, and efficient operations and compliance
   with GAAP accounting rules and other applicable law, including Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
• Provide current knowledge of best practices in accounting for overseas manufacturing, transfer
   pricing, hardware and software development, parts procurement, sales to domestic and
   international customers, warranty and returns, etc.
• Lead the tax reporting, analysis, and filing to ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and
   international tax requirements.

Skills and Experience Requirements:
• 10+ years of experience in accounting/finance in the technology sector.
• CPA required.
• Public accounting experience and recent experience managing external audits.
• Hands-on and detail-oriented individual.
• Proficient technology skills, including QuickBooks, SAP, Excel, etc.
• Motivated/driven individual interested in growing with the organization and assuming additional
   responsibilities over time.
• SEC reporting and SOX compliance experience strongly desired.

Education Requirements:
BS in Accounting or Finance. MBA preferred.
