The SmartRecorder™ System is an innovative Event recording system, capturing
comprehensive vehicle data from triggered events. The SmartRecorder is triggered
by an advanced process including an accelerometer that measures sudden movements
such as swerving and sudden braking, and a speed sensor that determines when a driver
exceeds a safe speed.
In addition to safety, SmartDrive also captures operational efficiency, including
actual routes driven, all stops made and points and duration of idling.
Each event goes through the SmartDrive Expert Review, a highly trained staff led
by a Malcolm Baldridge Certified Safety Director.

The SmartDrive Expert Review™ combines objective observations such as seatbelt
use, cell phone use and traffic law compliance, with common defensive driving strategies
like keeping a safe following distance, maintaining appropriate speed, and cell
phone use or texting.
Individual events are scored on 55 driving observations and deliverd to the SmartDrive
Response Center™ ready for coaching based on your company policies.
